We are celebrating the 1st birthday of Nhood Poland

7. 02. 2022

The first year of Nhood Poland’s operation has passed and it has been full of events! The company has expanded the range of services it offers, worked on new multi-functional projects, grown its portfolio of tenants in the sites it manages, and pursued sustainable development.

– We have set ourselves ambitious tasks. We are working on new mixed-use projects that will make everyday life easier for residents and allow them to spend time in a different way than before, and we are transforming real estate to become places with new functions. We want the sites we manage to have a triple positive impact on communities, the environment and the economy, in line with the pillars of our strategy: People, Planet, Profit. Thanks to our experience resulting from our presence in 10 European countries and many years of management of one of the largest portfolios in Poland, we can offer entities from the real estate industry professional services in a wide range – says Ada Walentek, CEO of Nhood Poland.

Development of the tenant portfolio in managed facilities

In the last twelve months, Nhood Poland has started cooperation with the brands TEDi, KiK, Maxi Zoo and Okaidi. Nhood is also dynamically developing cooperation with popular fashion brands, including Sinsay, Monnari, Carry or Tatuum, as well as drugstore chains Hebe and Rossmann.

Property management

Currently Nhood Poland is responsible for the comprehensive service of 24 Ceetrus Poland sites, including 22 Auchan Shopping Centers, Galeria Bronowice, Galeria Łomianki and a shopping center in Wałbrzych. The company manages all stages of property operation, conducts renovations to make the facilities more comfortable for customers and optimizes operating costs, including electricity and water consumption.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nhood team introduced additional hygiene measures to the shopping centers and conducted extensive communication activities. The effectiveness of the undertaken activities is confirmed by international SafeGuard certificates held by twelve sites.

In addition, in 2021, Nhood Poland opened COVID-19 vaccination points in Galeria Bronowice and Auchan Bydgoszcz Shopping Center. Additionally, in June and September 2021, in front of the Auchan Bielany Shopping Center near Wrocław, visitors had access to mobile COVID-19 vaccination points. Since July 2021, more than 37,300 people have been vaccinated at these locations.

New mixed-use projects

Currently, the development department at Nhood Poland is implementing two multifunctional projects. Wilanów Park, to be developed in Warsaw’s Wilanów district, will combine retail, dining, services, entertainment, including a cinema and two mixed-use buildings surrounded by a two-hectare city park. The diversified green area around the Wilanów Park project will be the first city park in Warsaw developed by a private investor. Its design will be carried out by the RS Architektura Krajobrazu architectural studio, which won the competition co-organized with the Warsaw Branch of the Association of Polish Architects SARP.

In turn, the Piaseczno Project will be built on the site of the former bus and trolleybus depot in Piaseczno near Warsaw. In conjunction with existing buildings in the area, it will create a meeting place for the local community with entertainment, catering and retail functions. In September 2021, Nhood Poland began the process of cleaning this area with the use of specially grown, safe and beneficial for biological processes strains of bacteria that will restore the soil to its natural state.

Management of investment areas

Nhood Poland manages the investment areas belonging to Ceetrus Poland. In 2021, the Nhood team signed 6 contracts with investors for the purchase and perpetual usufruct of land with an area of over 61.5 thousand m2 including in Białystok, Gdańsk, Góraszka, Lublin, Wałbrzych and Wrocław. There were also 6 preliminary contracts.

CSR activities

Nhood’s sustainable development strategy, on the other hand, is based on three pillars – People, Planet, and Profit. They set the direction of the company’s various activities in many areas.

With local communities in mind, in 2021 Nhood Poland implemented the ninth edition of its CSR program “Good Neighbor”, which aims to provide access to culture and education, expresses concern for the safety and health of visitors, as well as care for the environment. As part of the program, more than 8,000 event days were held in the shopping centers and malls managed by Nhood Poland in 2021. Nhood also develops communication channels with customers, actively uses social media, creates applications for shopping center visitors and regularly conducts opinion surveys.

Nhood Poland, while managing retail sites, applies for international certificates confirming the effectiveness of its sustainable development activities. Prestigious BREEAM In-Use certificates have been awarded to six of the sites managed by Nhood. In 2022, Nhood will apply for certificates for a further eighteen shopping centres under management, as well as for certificates for new projects.

Nhood Poland also develops cooperation with organizations supporting sustainable development. In 2021, the company became a partner of the UN Global Compact Network Poland initiative and cooperated extensively with the United Nations Environment Program/GRID-Warsaw Center. As part of its CSR activities, Nhood Poland also supports the activities of three foundations – Mam Marzenie, Po drugie, and Mierz Wysoko.
